South Dakota Pheasant Hunting and Deer Hunting

This area of South Dakota has been labeled "the Pheasant Capital of the World™" and for good reason; South Dakota has a reputation for pheasant hunting second to none.

The Double J Hunts and Cattle Co. are found in the James River Valley in Spink County between Redfield and Aberdeen South Dakota. We are a 4th generation farm and ranch operation.

Natural terrain and conservation practices such as CRP and shelter belts allow the native pheasants to flourish in over 4,000 acres of land available for hunting.

Available for hunts are a variety of cover including wheat stubble, corn, Sudan grass, river bottom, cattails, hay meadows, alfalfa fields, tree belts and winding natural waterways and draws.

We hear many comments on how well the fields are laid out. Add to this, some of the most beautiful back drops and sunsets you will ever see.

Clay trap shooting available, to help you hone your skills. Varmint hunting during daylight hours is permissible.

Ask about our combination pheasant and deer hunting packages.

For your R & R time, after your hunt, take advantage of our exercise equipment, basketball court, trampoline, batting cage and pitching machine.
